What is Our Daily Bread Ministries?
Our Daily Bread Ministries is a non-denominational, non-profit organization in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is best known for the Our Daily Bread devotional. Are you familiar with the publication?
I started reading it as a kid in the 1970s, when the ministry was Radio Bible Class. Some years later, the name changed to RBC Ministries to reflect its vast array of resources.
Last year, RBC Ministries re-branded as Our Daily Bread Ministries. The new name allows it to communicate its identity better.
7 Ways to Prepare Your Heart for Easter
Despite the various name changes, the ministry’s focus remains the same: sharing the message of God’s love and grace with people around the world. Here are seven awesome ways to prepare your heart for Easter with Our Daily Bread.
1. Share the Hope of Jesus
Jesus said, “I came that [you] may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). This Easter, as you celebrate your new life, take a moment to share the hope of Jesus with a neighbor, friend, or family member.
A New Life, the Easter edition of Our Daily Bread, makes it easy to share the gospel with others. Our Daily Bread Ministries will send you multiple copies of this booklet for a gift of any amount. But hurry. Supplies are limited.
2. Renew Your Walk with Jesus
Our Daily Bread Ministries will send you a paperback copy of The Love of God for a ministry gift, as long as the book is in stock. If you want the hardcover edition – or a digital copy for your Kindle reader – you can buy the book on Amazon.
3. Prepare Your Heart for Easter
Prepare your heart for Easter with a FREE 10-day reading plan from Our Daily Bread Ministries. The first devotional arrived in my inbox this morning, and it reminded me again WHO Jesus is.
Blessings of the Cross is a good supplement to the Our Daily Bread resource. This FREE devotional is a gift from FaithGateway, an online community of Christian authors and readers.
4. Download Free Easter Graphics
As a lifestyle blogger and social media enthusiast, I was thrilled to discover the FREE Easter graphics kit from Our Daily Bread. It’s a great way to share the hope of Jesus with your social networks.
The graphics kit is a ZIP file of screen, email, and social media graphics with the New Life theme. It includes print-ready images to use for your church projects and Easter outreach efforts.
5. Celebrate Easter with Music
Prepare your heart for Easter with music. Classical Praise: Easter is one of many musical offerings from Discovery House Publishers, the publishing arm of Our Daily Bread Ministries.
I own the CD, and the traditional melodies are beautiful and inspiring. If you prefer digital music, Amazon sells thethe MP3 version.
6. Study the Biblical Narrative
Did Jesus really die on the cross and come back to life? It’s hard for us to comprehend. Yet, in the words of Our Daily Bread, “the gospel message is not complete without the brutal sacrifice and beautiful resurrection of Jesus.”
A Rumor of Hope, a booklet by Ray Stedman, is another FREE resource from Our Daily Bread Ministries. Part of the Discovery Series, it’s available in print and digital formats.

7. Follow the Path of Jesus
Behind the Easter Story is a documentary film by Day of Discovery, a television program produced by Our Daily Bread Ministries. It offers a fascinating look at the path of Jesus through Jerusalem.
Using a limestone scale model of the ancient city, Mart DeHaan and Jimmy DeYoung retrace Jesus’ footsteps from His entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to His glorious, Easter morning resurrection.
