12 Christian Quotes That Will Inspire You in the New Year

Happy New Year! Don’t you love new beginnings? Whatever last year held for you – peace or pain, joy or sorrow – now is the time for renewal. A clean slate. A fresh start.

Today, I’ll share my favorite Christian quotes for the new year – words that truly inspire me and motivate me for the year ahead. I hope they’ll resonate for you, too. Bear them in mind as you make resolutions or set new goals for the year.

Not only can these words inspire you, they can also help you focus on God and His plans for you. Putting Him first is important (Matthew 22:37-38) as you make a fresh start. For He is the source of new beginnings, after all.

Inspiration, Passion, and Purpose

Before we get to the quotes, tell me – do you keep a quote journal? Somewhere to jot down phrases and sayings that move you? A quote journal is an excellent go-to source for some extra inspiration.

It is said inspiration makes the way easier and the work worthwhile. Inspiration helps you find your passion and purpose in life. You are much more productive when you’re passionate about something. And where there’s passion, purpose, and productivity – life is good!

I like quips, quotes, and pithy sayings – especially when they inspire me to be more purposeful and productive. In the past, I jotted interesting quotes in my daily planner. This year, however, I’ll collect them in a notebook. Something simple yet elegant, like this Tree of Life journal.

And I’ll start with the quotes on this page!

Tree of Life quote journal for new year quotes

Since different quotes move different folks in different ways, my favorites may differ from yours. But we can unite around the source of all inspiration: our good and glorious God (Psalm 113).

This post gathers my favorite new year quotes by well-known Christian “influencers” – men and women who have used their platforms for good and for God. I hope you enjoy them.

To share YOUR favorite quotes, head over to the comments. I would love to know what sayings move you to live for Christ in the new year.

And now, on to the quotes.
